Izan Araujo is a political geographer and specialist in geopolitics and global risks, with a focus on geopolitical risk management, scenario planning, and corporate strategy. He has more than a decade of experience in geopolitics and international affairs.

He currently serves as Head of Geopolitical Risk at Brasiliano INTERISK Consulting, where he leads projects with companies across multiple sectors aimed at strengthening corporate governance frameworks and improving the management of exposure to geopolitical risks. Prior to joining Brasiliano INTERISK, he was CEO of CENEGRI (Center for Studies in Geopolitics and International Relations), where he led analytical and strategic activities focused on translating complex geopolitical dynamics into actionable insights for public and private organizations.

Previously, Izan Araujo worked as a geopolitical research analyst for the Brazilian Navy, serving at the Conjuncture Assessment Group of the Naval War College (Escola de Guerra Naval – EGN). In this role, he contributed analyses published in the Geocorrente Bulletin, covering international politics, security, defense, and contemporary geopolitical dynamics. Before this experience, he worked in the financial sector as a career employee at Banco do Brasil in São Paulo, gaining solid expertise in finance, investment, and other banking services.

His analytical approach is grounded in critical geopolitics, rooted in the Anglo-American academic circles (Ó Tuathail, Agnew, Dalby). Izan holds a Master’s degree in Human Geography from the University of São Paulo (USP), with a concentration in Political Geography, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. He completed academic exchange programs in the United States, including studies at the English Language Institute of the University of Utah.
